Rachael Matthews Haberdashery - event?
Posted by felix under plans
I have been emailing Rachael about the walking stick cosy competition window display. She is making a Christmas tree to hang them on… I think it’s going to look amazing and I was wondering if we ought to have some kind of Xmas event in the shop and if anyone would be up for coming to London? There are decks, musical joy and the haberdashery to play in. I thought some kind of Christmas tea party might be nice; maybe knit some decorations, drink some wine, bring some cake and listen to some music… also we could invite some people along if anyone has people they’d like to invite. I will be driving to any such event and can organise lifts. Is anyone game and what days suit people best?

Sounds great - I’d be up for it in theory. Days when I definitely have a prior engagement are the 13th December and the 19th December onwards - otherwise, bring it on!
Sounds fabbo - count me in. Love to. What day of the week would be best? Lx
Sounds lovely indeed! Would a Saturday be the best plan?
I think I will arrange it for Tuesday 11th.
I’m not sure what will be happening with Mark’s family over the next few weekends, so want to keep them free and I know I’m away on the 14th…
How does Tuesday 18th work for people? It can be an evening tea; like 4pm - 8pm or similar times and I will be driving in any case so car give anyone lifts home…
let me know,
thanks,
Felix
Hi all,
After meeting with Rachael, the date is set for 1st December.
Details as follow:
The Knitted Walking Stick Cosy display is now up in Rachael Matthew’s shop window at Prick Your Finger.

We are planning to have some kind of open-day, knitting thing going on on 1st December; it’s next Saturday. Exact times/plans to be announced, but if you have any Xmas-themed CDs please do bring them along so we can play them through the knitted speakers. Plans are to include:
*knitted-speaker music/records/CDs
*knitting some walking-stick cosies (optional) or other knitting
*eating some cake
*drinking some tea
informal atmosphere in beautiful shop, surrounded by amazing knittingness.
I am not sure yet whether I will be driving, in fact, as driving there yesterday took me over 5 hours and it was a very stressful 5 hours, compared to spending 3 or 4 on the train with the compensation of being able to knit and drink lattes, but I can drive if enough people wish to make a road trip of it with me!
I’ll forward on details as they become available, but please keep Saturday 1st free and I hope you can make it!!
